Looks like shameless abuse of the word 'deadline' to me.

Dat feeling when Nicholl comes around and you've barely written a line in the past year.

              Question:
What did you think of their comments, if you paid for them last year?

(For me they were about on scale with what the BL's comments are -- gives you some things to think about, but not in a super detailed manner. Trying to decide if I should get them again while figuring out what script to enter...)
              fair and constructive, if brief

                i.e., far superior to BL.

in my case, actually not. my Black List reviews were also fair but a little more in depth and actionable -- the difference between a good paragraph of feedback v. a good page

Would bold sluglines count as "selective use" or be deemed as excessive?

Bold slug lines are practically standard these days.

Will not be a problem in any submission worth submitting to, anywhere in Hollywood.

I underline and bold mine. Just like the way it feels. Nobody in the industry has ever asked me to change it.

Sorry to be slow to respond. We've been buried of late.

$5 higher at the Early and Regular Deadlines.
$10 higher at the Late Deadline.

The Early Deadline was shifted from March 1 to March 7, and the Regular Deadline from April 10/11 to April 18.

For the person asking about "deadlines," it's the only way to get some number of writers to submit earlier. Otherwise, the majority of entrants would submit within the last few days. Having the arrival of scripts spread over multiple months allows us to spread the reading over those months - and finish in a timely fashion.

As Ron stated, there's no problem using bold sluglines.

The descriptions of format are simply guidelines, and we encourage readers to be flexible in their view of "standard" format.

Last year, we posted dozens of first pages from Nicholl-winning scripts, and the variance in format among them was broad.

Bold and/or underlined sluglines have a negative effect on reading. Their difference in weight/format effects a cognitive distraction and delay.

And besides, why be such a tart?
