Default Distribution companies

I have all the same lists as everyone else, but I wanted to put a shout out to everyone about any distribution companies who might be under the radar. We are nearing pre-production and are establishing relationships with several companies. Can anyone recommend or do any of you have a company you love working with? We have a drama romance and a comedy/farce ready to go, and a sports drama. With the media attention for BBM and Shopgirl, we want to strike now with our drama romance.

Thanks in advance. Contacts are always appreciated, but not necessary of course. Feel free to PM me.

Wish I was in Park City right now............

For your own sake go with a known company. This is one instance where "under the radar" is a bad, bad, bad idea. They will charge you a huge fee and won't be able give you the exposure you want. IF they have no clout with the exhibitors, they won't be able to get your film in theaters, and even if they do, they, they won't be able to collect your money. Look at Mel, he is still trying to get his "Passions" money and he's Mel Gibson!

Go the festival route. That's the best bet to get noticed. If not, knock on doors and beg. Get yourself lot screenings.

I think under the radar was a bad choice of words. I meant those companies who've done a lot over the past year that may not have been reported yet, etc.

That's what we're doing right now, knocking on doors...calling, emailing, mostly calling...we will be doing the festival route as well, but we want to do as much for that end of the process as possible.

Thanks for the advice.
