Too bad my script isn't as funny as my last post.

How could you possibly know whether or not your script is funny? You're "just the writer.-

I know it's funny when I read it and don't want to kill myself.

Need to trim down your spec? Then simply scrap the first half of your first act, Tolstoy. You really only need one scene of your protagonist's normal life before the inciting incident occurs.

              Good thread from John August.

Something I don't see screenwriters talking about is collapsing scenes, but it's something I end up doing on every script. Let's talk about why and how.

Let's say you've planned/outlined for three scenes. But then you get to it, and there's not room/space/budget for all three. This could happen on the first draft, fifth or in production. You've got to collapse them down, but how?

He gives example in thread... but overall it's taking 3 scenes and making them one scene to save space/time in script.

                People give good advice here.

I would show the script to a couple of people and ask what is boring. There is a good chance that you can cut out 20% of your script that way.

For sure. I bet if we just ripped out random pages say 80 to 90, most scripts would be fine.

Mine was a bit harder as I know rep likes it -- just trying to please rep and myself. It's a lot easier when it's just my spec -- and I feel I can do 100% what is best because no one has seen it yet. But rep has seen it, I did lose stuff that rep missed. So it's a balancing act sometimes. But that's a good problem to have. Someone that shows interest in your work.

It's at 110 pages. And it's better for it.
