What's up, guys. PRAY FOR THE LIGHT was a recent hot spec script which, having been sent to every major studio, was more or less assured of being picked up. It has to date, however, not been taken off the table. We're curious to hear your opinion as to why this might be? https://bit.ly/2tFAupu

Also: according to your info, this only went out a few weeks ago-- it could still sell, and if it's a cheap horror movie, someone will probably buy it eventually.

Re: Pray For The Light
So this is a thread about a script without a deal, posted in the Script Deals forum?
Hmmm... it seems that this thread is spam for the managertracker website.
How are we supposed to give our opinion as to why the script has "not been taken off the table" when the "story details are being kept under wraps" and there isn't even a logline?Know this: I'm a lazy amateur, so trust not a word what I write.

Re: Pray For The Light
If it got into that many territories that fast chances are it sold and you just haven't heard about it. But even if one of the studios didn't end up buying or optioning it chances are one of the bigger production companies that wanted to make it used their discretionary to option it off the table and perform whatever notes the studio(s) had.
Not saying that's what happened but with that list of producers it's highly unlikely that the script was a dud.Write, rite, wright... until you get it RIGHT.

What you're suggesting-- that a producer would use discretionary on a script everyone had already passed on-- has a likelihood of ~0%.Last edited by AnyOtherName; 07-01-2018, 05:07 PM.
