Default Really Stupid [Tom Cruise] Question

Before I ask this I need to make it perfectly clear that I do in fact know what a stupid question it is. Still, I recall some blind Asian guy with a whispy gray beard and who calls everybody 'grasshopper' said something like, "The only stupid question is the one you don't ask." Of course, this is the same guy who went on to tell you, you had to pick up that heavy brass pot of red-hot coals using only your wrists so maybe his wisdom is suspect.

So, how would I get a pitch to Tom Cruise or his MGM reps? I've got the perfect script for him. No, I really do have the perfect script for him.

Please, don't say things that are meaner than you have to... oh do your worst!

Seems like it would be nearly impossible.

Hire an entertainment lawyer and let them walk it into MGM/his production company.

Short of that there is always joining the church....

He has his own production company - might try them. Also, his agent at CAA is Kevine Huvane. Not sure either email but Huvane's is probably on this site somewhere.

I imagine it's easier to get President Obama to read your spec...

Yeah... my thoughts exactly.

It's a War Movie about how the P-51 Mustang changed WWII. (Fascinating story.) I didn't write it for him but during the research I discovered that he owns and flies his own personal P-51 Mustang. People who own these beautiful warbirds are obsessed with them. It's the perfect script for Mr. Cruise but he'll never see it. Though I will try his agent - sigh...

... I just checked and there is an email listed for Kevin Huvane on the infamous Everyone Who's Anyone. I'm sure it would go strait to his Blackberry.

You could happen to be walking by, notice his house is on fire, and rush in and save him. I think he'd be grateful, and would read your script.

Just don't go back into the burning house to save his cat. He doesn't own one.

Find out when he's out flying his little P-51, buzz him in a Tempest mk V and give him the finger. He'll find you.

Seriously.

That's reassuring to know a man who eats his newborn's placenta and had that really weird rapturous look on his face in that video can still get a pilot's license.

I once got read by C/W Productions....off a general query....after I had just won a major screenwriting festival. So, you have to get their attention somehow. Suggest getting their current email address and make the Subject Line zing. Include P-51 and anything that might grab their attention. You could get a read. If I can do it....anyone can.
