From what I recall, they fired him from Image for ripping off other artists ideas... I think Silvestri was a big accuser in that.
I have most of those early Image titles, and I honestly can't think of a comic they made that I actually liked and didn't just buy to collect. I guess The Maxx is the only one I actually really liked.
They reminded me of when Capcom got the Marvel contract to make video games, at the time I thought, awsome! they'll make a bunch of original marvel based fighting games... and they made a game with 12 different Ryu's... When Image split I thought, awsome! they'll make intresting and new comics and they made a bunch of knockoffs of The Punisher and The Xmen.
