I have had this happen to me and always offer to have my attorney send it over. They have always said yes. Try that.

Sorry to chime in late, but I would try CarolP's suggestion.

I used to work for a prod co where I was requesting scripts, and even if it was something I really wanted to read I still had to ask them to have an agent/manager/lawyer send it over.

This person could just mean what they said as a polite pass, but I would at least ask if a lawyer is acceptable.
