Default Producers' websites?

Is there a reason why some producers keep their websites private and unless they give you the code word to enter you can't see it. Even though it might have contact links and things? Is there that much riff raft looking at studios websites that they feel they have to keep it private?

Just curious.

Yes.

The amount of solicitations companies get (even lesser-known and lower-tier companies) is astounding. A lot of places find it easier to just not make that information publicly - or at least easily - available.

Also, depending on who it is, some companies actually use their website for actual business rather than as a public information site. I've worked places where the website was actually a web-based server so business associates (with the login and password, of course) could get onto the server and check the status of their deals, access sensitive information, etc.
