No, they just report when a man bags a wannabe manager's wife,

Now you don't have to worry about seeing me again...unless someone else wants to step up to the plate???

It's almost as if he has a direct pipeline to my inner thoughts. This is freaking me out.

                  All things in moderation.

Maybe Mazin's blog is a waste of time for parvenus comme moi. A lot of it is Guild issues. I did find his comedy glossary quite useful and I read it every time I write a spec.

I'm convinced that Jane Espenson's blog is a master class in TV writing. Dennis McGrath's blog has also taught me a lot about writing a good TV spec.

I use books a lot more than the web for actual writing advice. Message boards in particular are fun for member drama and general zeitgeist, but not the most serious thing on my daily agenda.

What I do to procrastinate in front of the TV while drinking wine is none of Craig Mazin's business.

Ditto. Unsubscribed to his blog a long time ago. My fave blogs right now are: 3 a.m Magazine and a Piece of Monologe and I subscribe to a couple of working screenwriter friends' blogs who rarely post.

Re. Done Deal. It simple, you have a filter in the brain. It's called discrimination. In any forum there are positive and negative aspects. I skip the flame wars, read the interesting discussions, help out where I can, don't respond to flames and over the years I've made some friends on the forum who are also good writers. Focus on the positive and skip the negative.

Of course he is right on procrastination/distraction re. the internet but that is hardly an earth shatterring revelation.
