Yeah when I saw that new black dude die in the same episode where we got an even newer black dude I was like Come on, guys, you're just parodying yourselves now!

I like what Carl is becoming. He gets this world. If I had a kid and we survived the zombie apocalypse, I hope my kid would be like Carl.

I find it interesting that the Carl of the television show is nothing like the Carl of the comics (from what I've heard; I have a few Walking Dead TPBs that I haven't yet read).

Of course I also find it interesting that Walking Dead now has no writing staff.

A TV calling has one. We used it to spec the show, although we decided against the roman numerals for act breaks. It just seemed odd.

I've no idea how that works. Does that mean they're using outside specs? 'Cause in theory that sounds like it'd keep things fresh. And each script is seriously motivated, so that might eliminate staff writers coasting.

Not sure how that'd play with a narrative.

They were using "non-staff writers" but it seems they did hire a small group of writers in the spring. I still don't think it's considered a full staff.

Looks like Walking Dead just lost its showrunner. Again. :/

I never really check the comments section on Deadline, but several people made the interesting point about AMC having a problem with retaining their showrunners. Interesting they parted over creative differences, I wonder where the network wants the show to go...

Mazzara and Hurd have really built this up into something solid...but it's not a good sign when AMC drags in the creative differences. Maybe it was AMC, maybe it was Hurd. If it was AMC, the fourth season is probably gonna implode
