    Re: Robin Hood

Always saw this project as Gladiator II, it's labelled as Robin Hood, but it's Gladiator II.

I'm going with my family to see this Sunday (my Birthday is Monday). Too bad about all the not so stellar reviews. I'm a Cate Blanchett freak, so, can't pass it up. I also have a high tolerance for Russell Crowe .. in movies. Not so much in interviews.

I hope its good enough that my husband and son don't hate me for taking them to see it.

FWIW, I found it interminable. Oddly enough, Crowe was the only tolerable point, what with his morose mumbling. Everyone else seemed to be taking the film as a chance to indulge in their thea-tuh voices.

For some reason all the bad teeth in this movie bothered me. Little John's teeth in particular. I think from now on you don't have to gross people out to achieve authenticity.

            Re: Robin Hood

It wasn't as good as I would have liked - but being a Cate Blanchett uber-fan, I was happy to have seen it. Parts were very much like staying the night at the local renaissance faire. The actress playing the Queen Mother was very good. I liked her scene with the owl.

On my way to use the John after getting seats, a man hurrying in from the refreshment stand, spilled half of his gallon of popcorn in the narrow hallway we shared, and I thought "O.k., this is a Ridley Scott popcorn flick". Not the best omen.

Interesting article on how the Robin Hood script ultimately cost $6.7 million.

just read the original NOTTINGHAM script and must say Scott & Crowe are out of their f*ucking minds for changing the original premise & story.

I can see why folks fell in love with it.

and more than a third of that came opening weekend. That's a steady redline down the graph.
