Default It's that normal?

An year ago a movie producer liked one of my scripts called "Sweet dreams". He said that the story is great and will love to turn it into a film. We talked a few times. Little by little I got the sense that he is backing away - we start talking on more rare occasions and on one point we stoped. After that I called him 3-4 times - once on every 4-6 weeks. Every time he said that he is still interested in the script but nothing more. He aways tell me that he is interested in it, but is busy.

Last week I sent him logline and synopsis of another (my last) script. Without asking him he told me againg that he wants to discuss "Sweet dreams".

It's that normal? Is he realy interested or...

Any thoughts and theories are welcome.

I'd probably ask him to get something down in writing. If he backs away from that, then he's not really serious...

If you want to force the issue, ask him if he wants to option it, otherwise you're going to send it to other producers.

Sounds like he's a little interested, but stringing you along.

I'd say keep talking to him, but at the same time shop the script around elsewhere. If you get a bite, tell him and you'll then find out the level of his interest.

good call, nathanq. definitely test the waters first with other producers before burning this bridge. but in general, if someone is really serious about your work, they'll want it off the market. so you should move on, send it elsewhere, and keep writing.
