Results are in... I know it's a process, but unlike previous years, there seem to be many writers that have gone unsigned at the time of announcement. Including 2 finalists. Anyway, congrats to all!

            Thanks Jai! I wrote Broken.

I actually never heard of this contest until late last year when I heard an interview with Mickey Fisher and on a whim decided to enter.

In the past, were most people signed when the results came out?

If so, that's pretty incredible. I will say that things are definitely in motion for me. Adam (The Insider) has been amazing so far and such an advocate for me. My script has gotten all over town. But personally I can't imagine signing with anybody so fast (1-2 weeks). But hey, if you meet the right reps, then you meet the right reps.

My script is not high concept which is what most managers seem to want. So maybe it'll be harder for me to find the right fit. Who knows. But I'm hopeful!

Congrats, Slupo! I thought I remembered reading this logline here in the logline forum a while ago. Am I correct? In any case, this is a great accomplishment!

                  Thank you!

Yes I posted the logline here for some feedback. I also asked for some advice on keeping separation b/w three (!) timelines in my script. All feedback was helpful.

                  Thanks again!

                      Thanks!

Haha I hope. But my script isn't sexy high concept. However, it could be easily made for under 5 million. So my hopes are really that it gets made rather than sells for a lot. But I'll take both

Excellent stuff, Slupo, and a big congrats! Even if Broken only serves as a writing sample, at least you'll have access to doors that were previously locked. Milk it for all it's worth and enjoy the ride!

                              Slupo -

I think your script has a good concept where one can easily "see" the movie from reading the logline.
"The Hollywood film business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side." Hunter S Thompson
