        Yes, congrats!

How are you managing to make things work from Tallahassee? Lots of flights? Any insight into how you are doing this from across the country would be appreciated.

I made one trip out to LA a few months ago and went on a bunch of generals. The rest of the meetings have all been over the phone.

As for what you said, I suppose you'll just have to get used to being the subject of threads.

Thanks again, everyone! If anyone's interested, here's an interview I did about the Black List:

                    Re: Congrats Sallain!

Congrats to you. Sounds like it was success well deserved. I was just wondering how different are your stories at draft 1 compared to the final draft? Not so much the tightness of the prose per se, but the actual story structure?

My first screenplay, MR. MALCOLM'S LIST, was adapted from a novel I'd written. The story itself didn't change very much from the first draft, though I did quite a few revisions; eliminating unnecessary scenes, tightening dialogue, and making motivations clearer.

I really hate revisions, once I've finished a first draft I hate tampering with the structure too much, so my new goal is to have a more in-depth outline before beginning a screenplay. I think that's why MR. MALCOLM'S did not require many story changes; the novel itself served as the outline.

Any updates? Have you been out to Warner and agreed on the subject for your script?
