Default Query Letters for Production Companies

Do you guys know of any production companies that WILL accept queries?

Plenty will, if they're interested in the material. Sure some are staunchly no unsolicited queries, but even big ones that often send those boilerplate e-mails will request if they're intrigued enough.

I once got a long email response from the legal department of a major production company saying 'no unsolicited queries...didn't open...no one read...email deleted ...etc etc,' followed 15 minutes later by a request for my screenplay.

No, they didn't buy it.

Nowadays, it costs nothing to send an email, so why not send one to whoever you want to? You won't be arrested or blackballed or anything. All they'll do is A.) Not respond B.) send you a note saying they don't accept unsolicited queries or C.) request to read.

In snail mail days, I could see being concerned about wasting stamps on fruitless queries, but this is really a no-lose situation.
