Default The Future of Dreamworks and Bollywood and Hollywood?

You ever thought of studying film financing or maybe you are an expert already. If so please assist in answering these questions.
  • Why is India's Reliance Big Entertainment putting up $500 million in equity for DreamWorks against an expected $750 million in loans? They make Bollywood movies. They don’t make real movies. They make B movies. I like B movies but 99% of them flop at the box-office. Bollywood copied the name from us. Why trust a company that calls themselves Bollywood?
  • Banks in general hate this sort of funding – especially when comes to dealing with India – which is actually a big hedge funds. Is this true?
  • Bridge financing is risky, then why is DreamWorks taking a risk? What would happen if all their movies start flopping in the new year?
  • After the AIG went under, JP Morgan is afraid to take any more risks. Is this related to Hollywood?
  • Why did DreamWorks co-founder Steven Spielberg and partner Stacey Snider leave the lucrative deal with Paramount Pictures?
  • What’s next, network with other studios and projects so they could make more movies that are easily forgotten?
  • Will Spielberg still make Tintin," a $100 million 3-D adventure?

Will somebody explain to me why is Steven Spielberg complicating things? He's a billionaire for crying out loud. Why does he need financing? George Lucas finances his own films#(&$(@&@(* What am I missing?

Spielberg could've saved himself a lot of trouble by funding his own films. Not to mention, Spielberg is one of the people who fell victim to Madoff's scam. With all that money that Spielberg lost in this scam, he could've funded his own films.

first rule of filmmaking -- never use your own money...

why use your money when you can use someone else's? And Speilberg is able to use someone else's... He takes no risk, and still gets considerable rewards.
