Default Which studio would be interested in horror/thriller?

I'm asking because I don't want to bother those studios/management companies who are only into action or comedy etc.

My screenplay is a fusion of "What Lies Beneath", "Deliverance", "Rosemary's Baby" and "Inside".

Same, but different.

Thanks.

I'd go onto IMDbpro (or the database here) if you have a subscription, check which current or future films have a similar tone, find out who wrote them and see who represents them. In addition to finding reps, it's a good way to get an overview of who's doing what, how much money is spent on the production, what level stars you'll be looking at, and how the film did at the box office.

I would get a manager first. Then try and get an agent if that fails. Then try and hit up companies. Just IMO. But if you still wanted to go this route, you can always go and sign up to DDP and do as search under horror and see what studio/buyers/indies bought up specs.

I've had more reads from actual producers - or their assistants - than I have managers or agents, and I've probably spent (/wasted) a hell of a lot more time on the latter!

Unfortunately, being a writer isn't just about writing, and it's the time invested on researching companies, rep's and contacting them, twiddling your thumbs afterwards, which is where most of us crack.
Some say, "get an agent so that you don't have to waste time querying", but if it was that easy, why would we bother having this section of the forums?

Yeah, see I am sending out e-queries to managers from that Master Manager List LIMAMA sent me, but it would be easier if I knew who to target instead of just spraying my seed in every direction. That's what fertility clinics are for. And you all are the good doctors who can help me find my match.

So, all I'm asking is, could anyone who knows please list which companies and/or studios are interested in horror/thriller and which management companies should I contact?

Please help a fellow brother out.

Cheers.

EDIT: P.S: Some of those email addresses in the master list are bouncing.

join "IMDbPro" - $15...

"being a writer isn't just about writing, and it's the time invested on researching companies, rep's and contacting
them"

do the search on:

"What Lies Beneath", "Deliverance", "Rosemary's Baby" and "Inside".

it will list writer, agent, producer & director.

check thos bios, see what each have worked on, what they are working on, the budgets, box office take, who starred, awards, etc.

it gives you the agent's email address, office phone numbers, everything except what they eat for breakfast.

the only difference between Austrailia and Hollywood is 12 hours.

24 hours (SYD - LAX), if the horrid memory of my last flight serves me correct.

But yes, close enough.

Yes, thanks dude.

I am trying to find info myself, it's just always worth asking DD-er's.

Why take the SR170 when locals know a shortcut?

Sigh. And sometimes we don't have that info, because it's not our genre, so we try to make a helpful suggestion of a process that has worked for us in the past.

Ya' know?
