It's still Duncan Jones for me with no questions asked but I could get on board with Southern Land's idea or mge457's.

No Nolan, No Abrams, No Aranofsky. I like them all but not for this.

Yup I was going to throw John Logan's name up there too. Could be great.

He's got an hour long lecture on the Bafta Screenwriter's Lectures podcast that's pretty awesome.

I agree with this. It may be decades later, but Kasdan proved that he understands the Star Wars universe and its characters and can endow the films with depth.

As for directors, I'd still have to mull this over.

That would be very interesting.

I'll throw in Robert Rodriguez. I think he's one of the best (and one of the most underrated) at nailing a particular tone that he's going after, so he could probably do a great job of matching what's already been done without making it all about himself.

I guess Peter Jackson, too.
