To bounce off of Jeff's point there's kissing up to Pros and there's basic human decency. Negative reviews are going to happen but kicking a man while he's down after he's spent years helping the writing community is poor form. But the film will probably make quite a lot at the BO anyway so I know who is winning and who is losing in this scenario.

What a [censored negative expletives] statement. Not only because it's a cheap shot at Craig, who has been ridiculously generous with his time and wisdom on this board, but because it betrays a fundamental misunderstanding of the way movies work. The script got this movie greenlit, which is more than you can say about 99.99% of the scripts out there. What happens after that is the result of a myriad of other influences collectively known as "production" and "post-production."

On the John August scriptnotes blog. Pretty sure that's what he said in ep 75? Not after it's been out a few weeks though, or something.

I'm sorry, but Craig puts in a lot of time helping here. This kind of malicious cvntiness depresses me.
Couldn't have said it better myself. That people are attacking a film they haven't seen yet, let alone one written by someone who is so amazingly generous as Craig is, is disgusting.

What did he ever do to you, OTHER THAN SPEND TIME AND ENERGY TRYING TO HELP YOU!

I don't usually see comedies in the theater because I'm cheap and my TV at home will do just fine for those (vs. CG-heavy fare). But I am totally going to see this because Craig wrote it, and I'm going to drag my BFF with me and be all "The dude who wrote this said my name on his podcast once and even responded to one of my THREADS!!"

100% not joking.

Not classy.

Craig doesn't need anyone to defend him nor should it be thought that his output is beyond comment, but honestly - don't you think you should have frickin'-well seen the film before busting out the verdict?
