  • How to write this...

I have several video diary entries.

    Can I write:

    The screen clicks on?

or any other suggestions? As opposed to just cut to: and we see his face looking back at us.

I would need a little more explanation of the situation and what you are trying to do before I could be of any help.

cutting to a Video blog entry. And then cutting to another.

      So...

      INT. ROOM - DAY

      A face looks into camera.

      Or

      A SCREEN CLICKS ON.

A face looks back at us.

      OR...

I think I would end a scene with an action line that is something like the following. Of course, identify what kind of device you are talking about.

        He clicks on the device.

Then I would start a new scene and tag it as follows:

        INT. ROOM - DAY (VIDEO)

        And write out your scene.

I have a series of scenes that i'm using "JUMP CUTS:- to identify when the scene jumps to another scene. i am also setting up intercutting between to locations and when the scene changes locations the sub header shows up. You could easily do the same.

          For example:
INT. MAPLE AND ASH BAR - NIGHT

          INTERCUT WITH AS NEEDED

          INT. SLOANE'S APARTMENT - NIGHT

          sub headers become...

          MAPLE AND ASH

          SLOANE'S APARTMENT

          you could easily say...

          CUT TO VLOG #2:

          CUT TO VLOG #3:

i always try to use the simplest and clearest way to communicate your vision.

not sure that helps. if it needs a bit more scene description that's fine.
