I can see this being a sleeper hit. Its a SOLID script and it looks like the studio's backing it, anticipating it to be a word of mouth hit. I'm gonna try and see it in the movie theatre btw.
And yes, it differs from the original spec. The final version cuts to the marrow.
They're probably having a shindig at twoadverbs where deus (James Simpson) spends a hunk of time.
"I ask every producer I meet if they need TV specs they say yeah. They all want a 40 inch display that's 1080p and 120Hz. So, I quit my job at the West Hollywood Best Buy."

i am just super excited that this movie got made. i'm sure deus is absolutely thrilled, and personally, i think he deserves lots of happiness for his help and success.
I did not like it. Weak characters, the stupidest plan in the world for robbing an armored truck, convenient things happen to help the hero (deus ex machinas - ironic, huh?), some *obvious* script spackle (GPS, that loose panel on the floor), no relationships between characters (that were explored), static plot - nothing gets worse and they seem to do a lot of running around but get nowhere, and... what they hell is the point?
I thought the early version of the script I read was a let down, as well - many of the same problems, but the concept of being trapped in an armored truck was genius. The film removes the trapped aspect, which takes away the best thing in the script.
