    Re: Armored

I can see this being a sleeper hit. Its a SOLID script and it looks like the studio's backing it, anticipating it to be a word of mouth hit. I'm gonna try and see it in the movie theatre btw.

There seems to be an big marketing push for this. Very glad to see that. Commercial looks good. Crossing my fingers for TAKEN type numbers.

      It could happen.

Curious to see how much they changed from the original Nicholl draft everyone read. I know they made Ty an Iraq vet.

Just saw it. Intense from the opening image.

And yes, it differs from the original spec. The final version cuts to the marrow.

They're probably having a shindig at twoadverbs where deus (James Simpson) spends a hunk of time.

IMDB trolls are trashing it, but I think it's got a decent shot at the BO. Definitely my kind of movie.

I'm getting nailed hard for my typos this week. (Not here, somewhere else.)

Does not look like it's going to release here in Asia.

Like usual, I guess this doesn't come out in Australia until 2027...

EDIT: Yep, doesn't hit cinemas until Feb 18, 2010.

As opposed to the movies they don't trash?

hahaha! Very good point. Yeah, those knobs will trash anything and everything.

                              Re: Armored

I did not like it. Weak characters, the stupidest plan in the world for robbing an armored truck, convenient things happen to help the hero (deus ex machinas - ironic, huh?), some *obvious* script spackle (GPS, that loose panel on the floor), no relationships between characters (that were explored), static plot - nothing gets worse and they seem to do a lot of running around but get nowhere, and... what they hell is the point?

I thought the early version of the script I read was a let down, as well - many of the same problems, but the concept of being trapped in an armored truck was genius. The film removes the trapped aspect, which takes away the best thing in the script.

Great trucks smashing each other stuff, though.
