  • One take scenes

    do you guys ever indicate in the script itself if a scene is one uninterrupted take?

    I know we are not directors (at least not when we are writing for others) but I am trying to point the director in the right direction and give him an opportunity to flex his visual muscles.

    Not I. Nor did Michael Tolkin, the man who wrote the novel “The Player” and the screenplay for the movie (based on his novel) entitled The Player, directed by Robert Altman. Follow the link and scroll down to read the opening pages of the screenplay that had an eight-minute opening tracking shot.

        If it's integral to the story I would say go for it. In the script for Birdman they handled it with the 3 dots at the end of each scene.
