What was the worst or longest period of writers block you've ever experienced - and how did you personally overcome it?
I have mixed feelings on writers block. You always hear that the best solution is to just sit down and write, even when you don't feel like it. But I'm sure everyone goes through those periods where that seems like an impossible feat. Other factors just seem to make it too difficult. Maybe it's the fine line between channeling feelings such as angst, injustice, or melancholy into your writing, and something more insidious than that.
Was there ever a period of time during your life when you were struck with a severe case of writers block, something directly related to your current life circumstances? Or is this simply an excuse for letting the writers block win. Can writers block always be overcome?
