Same story here. Only common link could be an old listing at Venice????

I asked for address and contact phone # for my *agent's* records. No answer, either, but I only got it this morning, also.

Oh, well, at least we had lots of company and something to talk about.

Lightbulb Re: Castle Films?

That's got to be it. When I asked about that earlier in this thread, I had the feeling it was the Scriptnet service at Venice Arts. I had a logline on there three or four years ago. Funny thing is I e-mailed senor Michaelson this morning--but no reply--go figure. Anyone hear back from a reply to his e-mail yet?

I remembered posting a logline at a site called www.winningscripts.com. To confirm I went back and checked it out, sure enough it was the script named in the Castle Films email. It was posted way back in May of 2002.

Hope this helps clear up the mystery,

The email I received was for an old script, too. I have never used Venice Arts services, but I did use souwannasellascript blaster. My guess is this guy is on both lists.

That does seem to be it, then -- he's checking out a couple of boards where we've had loglines sitting largely undisturbed. I think Soyouwannasellascript is the one I meant.

No reply yet to the email I sent him 12 or so hours ago.

It seems that quite a few of the members of Zoetrope received the same. Someone's having a good laugh.

Oh well, whatever gets you through the day.

I got an email too for one of my scripts. I tracked it to a New York City Craigs List posting last week looking for a hip hop screenplay.

If the guy can't put a period after "Mr" that should have been the first clue!

The second clue, he/she/them/it requests old features - ones that are shelved, renamed, or dissolved.

Third clue, was the brevity of the note. No request, no instructions, and no introduction.

Fourth Clue, no info on the net for either the name or company.

Fifith Clue, no return address, tel no. etc.

Sixth Clue, reproduction of many same notes to other writers.

This smells of a bait and switch scam. Don't give it the time of day. Write instead!

People who really are interested show their interest.

Blessings,
Mo8

That could mean he's British. Commonly in the UK, periods are not placed after Mr, Mrs or Ms.

This has been done before. I don't remember the name that was used in the past, but over the last several years this is the third or fourth time I can remember getting one of these "I'm interested in your screenplay" emails.

It's obviously someone playing some sort of game. When I got my email (about a script I haven't even opened in over 3 years) I just deleted it.

Motherof8 is absolutely right: It's a scam, prank or something else not worth your time.
