Default Looking for advice on connecting with new producers

Hi everyone - I'm looking for some advice on how to connect with new producers, or those just getting started as a producer.

I'm a writer based in Canada, and there seem to be a lot of film program opportunities (CFC, NSI-Canada, etc.) that require that teams (writer/producer, writer/producer/director) apply. I doubt established producers or production companies would be interested in teaming up with writers for these types of programs.

I've tried contacting some film schools/film programs to see if any recent grads are looking for writer partners, but no luck.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Inktip, NetworkISA, Screenwriting Staffing, Mandy always have producers with no money looking for writers to do scripts for free that they can market and pay the screenwriter AFTER they get all the funding.
(Before the lightning bolts start flying, I am NOT saying all the jobs listed there are like that - just that there are some listings that fall into that category)

I've really had too many bad experiences with those who are beginning out and want the free or $1 paid option things. It might work for some but not me anymore.

You can get subscription to imdb and find some emails of producers who might look at your stuff if you write a decent query letter to them.
