thanks everybody for the advice and encouragement. i'll keep you posted. this will be my first feature. i think i like having full control especially over a small project like this with minimal locations.

okay... i think it's good you've apologized and we should move on, but you should tread carefully about what you think you KNOW.

What good does resolution do you if you don't have good glass in front? ie, some video cameras don't take Zeiss Digiprimes, and/or need some sort of adaptor... so - when i say that resolution is a ploy from the manufacturer, i believe i'm right. cuz they can screw with the glass and the recording method.

You can by a prosumer camera with great resolution, a great sales pitch from the manufacturer, and the end result is a soft image. especially if the RECORDING device subsamples the color space (those little numbers they include like 4:1:1 or 3:1:1) or interlaces the image (24p is progressive, 1080i is interlaced). maybe you know about Bayer and all the math, but I doubt it. Prove me wrong without using Google.

so my point is: great SD can trump some kinds of HD, like prosumer. This is deep water for me, but i imagine you are equally if not more so over your head.

Good luck with your producers and projects people!

As fascinating as this derailment has been , can we get back to the OP?

Cheers.

Would love to know, Juno, what you decided in the end. I think what Bella said made a lot of sense (on the first page) - a line producer would ease a lot of the busy work while freeing you up to create. Given you've already done much of a producer's job anyway.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Are you sure?

Anyway, sorry about all the cursing before. Sometimes it is fun.

Hey Juno,

I'm really happy for you that you're rocking out a full feature indy on your own.

Is it too much to ask about the details?
ie. how you raised the funding? what the script is about? where your locations are?
