LOL. Michael was doing the same thing to me.

Everyone should listen to you two guys first. I was just trying to throw a few thoughts out to help.

While the three of you were distracted, I sent a query to Lionsgate.

I know about the three projects already selected for the first slate of 10, but I'm looking for info on the types of projects they are looking for etc.

Anyway, I'd be interested to see if anyone has contact details for somebody I can speak to who is affiliated with this new venture, whether it be with Lionsgate directly or a production company in the know.

Thanks in advance!

EDIT:

Sorry, I realise my original post was pretty vague.

I'd be interested to know:

Are they looking for projects to develop or existing material?
What genres they are interested in?
Are they looking for break out roles for cast or predictable characters?
Franchise opportunities?
Certain locations or set pieces?

Thanks.
I wouldn't normally say this, but the person who is heading up this "division" is easily found online if you look.

Beyond that, it's pretty much common sense, they are looking for genre pieces that have theatrical breakout potential and can be made for that price. That means comedy, horror, psychological thriller, action driven thriller generally, possibly sci-fi if you can pull of something contained like Moon, but at less than half the price. When you say "break out roles", a 2m price point means that they are not casting up, so most lead roles will be break out, no one is looking for predictable characters. Of course they want franchise opportunities, but that's not something for you to worry about. They are not looking for specific "set pieces or locations", they are looking for a script that can be produced for 2m.

Yep. Re their $2M micro budget movies: "We are only doing broad edgy comedy and horror."
