        Okay!

        1. Horrible Bosses - Charlie day and the Coke scene - lots of scene in that film. Funnily, the audience who finds that film hilarious differs upon generation. Something I noticed when speaking w/friends.

        2. Just Friends - Almost Everything. I still laugh hard when I see that. Anna Faris is hilarious.

        3. Sorority Boys - When Harland Williams says he's addicted to porn while in a circle of sorority sisters.

        4. White Chicks - Anything w/Terry Crews and the White Chick he was hott for.

        5. The Woman In Red - When Charles Grodin pretends to be blind in the bar.

That's all I can think off the top of my head. I love watching comedy. Writing comedy too.

Marx Brothers, a tie between Duck Soup - the trial and A Night At The Opera - the full cabin scene

There's Something About Mary - the zipper scene

The Graduate - when Ben meets Mrs. Robinson at the hotel. The timing is sublime.

Animal House - tie between the horse scene and the guitar scene. Every scene in that movie works for me. Classic.

Old School - Will Ferrell and the tranq gun in the neck

I'm quite young, but I didn't find that movie all too hilarious. That said I did like the cast, and to say the least it's certainly better than anything I could write.

I don't mean to hijack this thread, but I'm interested to know what generation usually finds that movie hilarious.

              Here are mine:
              1. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iesXU...feature=fvwrel (And of course the final line of the movie/ credits)

              2. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rJmxPkwssa0 Dianne Wiest's character is just insane.

              3. I can't find a video for this one. The very last scene in Hannah and Her Sisters. Dramatic irony!

              4. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6T2uBeiNXAo I believe someone's avatar on DDP is a screenshot from this scene.

              5. Another video I can't find, in A Serious Man. The dream sequence where Richard Kind gets shot in the head.

I'll give you a couple - going back in time a bit --

                1. Donald Sutherland's wedding sermon in LITTLE MURDERS, probably the funniest monolog ever put on film.

                2. The scene in THE END where Dom Deluise meets Burt Reynolds.

Two of the greatest black comedies and both pretty much forgotten.

First off, a nod to mlongton for mentioning THE END. That is one bizarre, darkly funny mostly forgotten movie.

So many scenes, I can't remember them all and some of the below aren't even really funny scenes, just funny acting.

*A mohawked Travis Bickle repeatedly shaking his head after chasing a pill with what I imagine was very warm beer in Taxi Driver.

*Woody Allen mockingly laughing at the bore Alan Alda during dinner in Crimes and Misdemeanors.

*Practically any of the lines by the drill sargeant in Full Metal Jacket.

*Practically any of the lines by Bill Paxton in Aliens (he should've won an Oscar for that performance).

*The Gub scene in Woody Allen's Take the Money and Run.

*The Dictator scene in Woody Allen's Bananas (the part where he decrees everyone must change their underwear every hour and wear them outside of their clothes so that we can check).

                    *About anything in Borat.

Sorry. I ignored every rule in this thread.

Re: Top 5 Favorite Comedy Scenes Of All Time

The thing about comedy is that it's probably not going to be that funny out of context, but I'm going to link to specific clips anyway. Because it's the morning, and I don't want to start working yet.

In no particular order (despite the fact that I inexplicably numbered them):

                        1. Kids in the Hall - "Daddy Drank" - One of my favorite comedy sketches of all time. Speaks for itself.

                        2. The Three Amigos! - I can't find a YouTube clip for this, unfortunately, but the scene where the Three Amigos all realize that they aren't acting in some elaborate play and are, in fact, facing down with a Mexican gang is pretty great. They realize the truth and then all immediately start crying.

                        3. Shaun of the Dead - "The Plan" - All of "Shaun" is pretty great, but this scene is definitely one of my favorites. The happy-as-can-be look on everyone's faces during the montages kills me every time.

                        4. Army of Darkness - "This is my BOOMSTICK!" - I've always felt that the character of Ash is one of the best achievements in the horror genre in the last thirty years. By the time we get to "Army," which is a full blown horror comedy, Raimi's direction coupled with Ash's "I would give anything to not be in this stupid movie right now" attitude combine into something pretty special.

                        5. The Jerk - "He Hates These Cans!" - It's hard to pick a favorite scene, as "The Jerk" is one of the best comedies ever made. But if you have to go with one, you're probably going to go with this.

                        HONORABLE MENTION:

The Simpsons 5.01 - "Cape Feare" - Sideshow Bob stepping on rake after rake is pretty masterful. It goes on for so uncomfortably long that it goes from being funny, to not funny, to funny again. I had never quite seen a joke do that before. As far as the clip itself goes, obviously it's better in the context of the full episode, which also happens to be one of the best episodes of that show's run.

Hot Fuzz - "Here Come the Fuzz" - Two of my favorite jokes ever are in this scene. The first is the payoff to a running joke in the whole movie, where Pegg has finally "switched off his brain" and in turn has devolved into an action hero, to the point where he's literally speaking on one-word sentences like "...idea!" (Unfortunately not in the YouTube clip). The second is the setup to a joke where there's an awkward silence where he should have a one-liner after defeating a bad guy, only to have a conversation about that very fact a few seconds later.

I just watched this again recently and Paxton is freaking brilliant at that character and it's amazingly written. For one, he's obviously a buffoon to some extent and a bit of a coward, but he's also a badass marine that can perform well if given proper guidance. Amazing, classic character that will stand the test of time.

Pretty much anything in Spinal Tap. The 18 inch henge is probably one of the funniest things I ever saw on film... besides Twilight.
