  • Sending assignment to agent

    Hey guys

    Regarding assignments:

Do you send your agent the script before, concurrently or after you've officially delivered ?

    Re: Sending assignment to agent

I send it to my reps the same day I send it to my contact.

Just a "Hey. Keeping you in the loop. Here's the draft I submitted to so-and-so today."

It's a good way to keep them excited and engaged. And then they tend to follow up with the producer/exec and sing my praises. Always a good thing.

I used to try to get it to them the weekend before I delivered, so that they had a chance to offer notes.

Although I think I was somewhat naive about them actually wanting to do that, and/or being particularly good at it.

Concurrently. I do a separate email basically saying "It's in, and here it is so you can have it too."

Also, who are you delivering to? Usually an assignment will go to the producer first, this is not official delivery. The producer will read and then there's usually the "producer pass" - hopefully just some tidying up notes. It's not officially delivered (and therefore billable for delivery) until the studio gets it.
