  • Anyone here familiar with Russ Meyer's films?

Just recently been turned onto these. Wow! Strange movies to say the least. I enjoy them, but they're unlike any film I've ever seen.

Watched Faster, Pvssycat! Kill! Kill! a couple of weeks ago, and was blown away with it.

Mudhoney is another one I've recently watched. Wow! Another oddly enjoyable cult film.

The set-up for these films are very simplistic, but they're really pretty good stories as they unfold.

Meyer used the sexploitation of women, but his female characters were also very strong-almost dominate-in nature.

Valley of the Dolls is another one.

Meyer did Beyond the Valley of the Dolls, a sequel in name only to the first...but interestingly enough, Roger Ebert wrote the screenplay. Yikes!

That and Faster Poo-saycat are the only two that I've seen, but he was definitely some sort of auteur.

    Some sort.
