"The Young Ones", you can't be a student in the UK without being a devotee. It's been handed down as a rite of passage since the 1980s.

          M*A*S*H
          Sopranos
          All in the Family
          The West Wing
          Hill Street Blues
The Mary Tyler Moore Show (Ted Baxter & Sue Ann Nivens are two of the best characters EVER)
          The original Bob Newhart Show
The original Law & Order (surprised no one has listed this yet)

Lots of good newer shows - they probably haven't percolated long enough with me:

          Modern Family
          Good Wife
          Dexter
Saving Grace (did anyone else ever watch this? Holly Hunter was Emmy robbed.)
          Curb Your Enthusiasm
And many more I'm sure I'm leaving out

Sort of got me thinking and I'd like to add Wiseguy to my original 8(ish)

there is a programme that should be redone. Watched it all again last year and it has aged a little but if it were redone well; it would rock!

                As it should be.

Once upon a time MTV was brave enough to air the series.

and OMGWTFBBQ, nobody mentioned The Sifl and Olly Show.

Yes!!! The Rockford Files and Columbo should have been on my list (8 is too short.) Both are available streaming on Netflix.

Sorta surprised that it took this long for someone to nod at AD. Might not bode well for the reboot and film...too much time passed?
