Default Putting my film on IMDb

Hey y'all,

I'm trying to put my film on IMDb and I can't figure out how to proceed. I found the "IMDb Resume" page, but that looks like only a way to put info about a person. Is this also how one lists a project?

Anyway, any help would be appreciated. Going to the Santa Barbara Film Fest at the end of the month and I want to have it squared away.

Cheers,

Adam

Thanks guys!!

Bummer I didn't do it earlier, because it takes several weeks to get the title listed, so it may not be up in time for the fest. No worries though, I'll have DVD copies for anyone who's interested. (connected producers and hot chicks first, of course )

Cheers,

Adam

By the way, IMDB can be %#@$*&s about new films, so they may not even list it until *after* you play a festival.

But don't forget to include the festival info (if there's a way to do that) on the new title submission.

Yes indeedy. I just spent the last 5 hours putting all the credits in on the title addition application. Man, what a tedious job. Oy vey.

But I did find the "third-party URL" that they required (to prove the film's not some home movie). The film screened at the Miami Short Film Festival, so I put up the webpage that listed the 2007 selections.

We'll see how it goes.

Cheers,

Adam

Yeah, if I remember, they take ages to approve your listing.

A good way of knowing if IMDb recongnize a festival is to look up the festivals in their database (it's a pretty long list).

A link to the festival line up with your film should work for their third-party listing. One of my festival screened shorts took probably 2 weeks to get listed back in 2004.

It really sucks, since they're the de facto place where everyone looks to see if films are for real, but they don't really deal with festival data.

It's a pretty unresponsive system. Proably thanks to all the posers who made up credits for themselves years ago.

Hey, did this thread get moved? I could have sworn I posted it in Business Questions, but whatevz.

Anyway - the film is up on IMDb! Interestingly enough, some of the credits aren't - including MINE!! Haha. I'm not too worried though, because I've refreshed the page a few times and credits keep appearing (I'm assuming as they are confirmed), so maybe at some point, the gods of IMDb will deign to credit the writer/director (and my partner the producer, LOL).

If anyone wants to check it out, it's here: MINE (2007/II)

And, while we're on the subject of the film, it's playing at the end of the month at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival. Come on up and check it out if you're into it. It's part of their "Shorts Program 2", and will be screening twice - Sunday 1/27 @ 4:00pm and Tuesday 1/29 @ 10:30am.

The more the merrier!

Cheers,

Adam
