  • Main characters meeting

My two main characters aren't in the same scene until page 15.
Obviously I like to get ii to page ten at the latest.

My questions are must I. I like showing what these characters life's are like before they meet.

And is it okay to go back and forth with the scenes of each character's life or better if I have a few scenes of one character together.
I'm afraid of the back and forth coming off as sitcomish.

Also are there other movies that come to mind where the main characters don't meet right away.

    "While You Were Sleeping"
Almost 40 minutes before Jack makes an appearance.

Lethal Weapon. Almost any buddy movie with joint protagonists.
You know Jill you remind me of my mother. She was the biggest whore in Alameda and the finest woman that ever lived. Whoever my father was, for an hour or for a month, he must have been a happy man.
