  • ScreenCraft True Story & Public Domain

Just learned I've advanced to Semifinals in this competition. Find out about Finals next month.

I know it isn't Nicholl or Austin or even PAGE. But does this mean anything? Does anyone -- even small-time producers or boutique agencies/management companies -- look at these things?

    Congrats on making the semifinals!

There tend to be mixed opinions when it comes to the effectiveness of Screencraft contests. But they do typically get a decent number of submissions so in my opinion placing in one of their contests is, at the very least, a solid vote of confidence in the submitted script.

I was a finalist in their animation contest (admittedly way more of a niche than their other contests). Besides a very nice phone call from one of the contest organizers, I didn't really get any traction off of it. That's not to say that you won't. I know they try and circulate winning scripts in all their contests. But all I really came away with was a temporary boost to my self confidence.

      Congrats to both of you!

I just advanced in their Drama competition. Very pleased.

Contest lists Yasmin Hormozi as one of the judges, saying she's with Participant Media. She left Participant Media in April for Concordia Studios. They do DOCUMENTARIES.

It's the same person, right? It's not like she forgot what a screenplay is just cause she's working on documentaries.
