  • Anyone doing the Script Pipeline Great Movie Idea contest??

    Deadline: June 15th
    Fee: $35

    https://www.scriptpipeline.com/greatmovieideacontest

It says you can have a completed script or not, (you do not submit the script).

You submit what you want from a logline to a 3-5 page treatment.

    Basically, a pitch contest.

    Sounds like fun, anyone in?

Anybody done it in previous years?

They seem very proactive in pushing material up the pipeline.

Grand Prize looks extremely mean. 29 times the entry price. It may be writer's paranoia but ideas aren't copyright so that *FABULOUS* (!) script idea I have... actually so much beyond fabulous that I'm not sure I should even be hinting about it... the one that's for sure the best screenplay idea anyone has ever had ever... THAT ONE... I'd rather turn into something copyright first...

It says in the rules you should have your material WGA registered. I'm sure their development execs and judges are not looking to steal material.

If it can't be considered copyright, then it doesn't make any difference where you register it. Date evidence of when you had the idea maybe (assuming it was your idea). But stopping someone else use it - useless. And the WGA!! I'd never do that!! Library of Congress every time.

So, not to let this thread get hijacked with theft discussions...

          did anybody enter??

          I did.

It looks like they have extended the late entry to June 22nd.

And it has a very fast turnaround time - winners announced July 15th.
