It's likely because there was not a fourth season, so the promotional element was not there the way it was with the first two. The series got better and better, but never gained an audience.
Both those films are failures, but that's the genius of the how is that we get to see exactly how it went wrong. I read the original BATTLE OF SHAKER HEIGHTS script before I saw the series, and that provided extra insight into how well-meaning notes can be totally off the mark, how the wrong director(s) can mangle the tone, and how a rushed production leads to a lot of bad choices and unfortunate compromises.
