Hey Lord, I am not denying the fact that the "F" word takes you out of the story, and you have every right to feel that way as a viewer. However, I'd just like to point out that you keep referring to the show's narrative as if it's set in a distant past that is part of our continuum. It is not. It is a fictional world with its own set of rules.

So you getting taken out of the story by the usage of the f-ck word should not be bred from what you assume to be a story set in ancient times. You are simply having a strong reaction to it because what looks like a story set in the dark ages is playing into your own preconceived notions of how people spoke back then versus how people speak now, which doesn't really apply in this case.

Personally, I have an easier time accepting "f-ck" in the world of GAME OF THRONES then I did accepting "frack" in BATTLESTAR GALATICA. And I loved BSG! But BSG was set in the future of our continuum and I had trouble believing our cursing evolved from "f-ck" to "frack".

It's true. Why would the usage of the "f word" ruin your suspension of disbelief when you're watching a story which involves zombies invading a medieval like kingdom in which dragons are bred?

This is actually the best case I've heard to include the f word in fantasy stories. Still, I don't see any evidence of things from near our present time but I think this will just have to be a subjective issue.

Just watched the first episode and it's pretty good. Better story than most soft-core porn I've seen.

Great 2nd episode -- this series is already becoming one of my favorites. Damn that boy Drago needs to take it easy on Danerys. lol Jesus.

                SOLIERS....

It's gonna be funny later on, when people see the change in their relationship.

Great episode. It's written and shot so good you think it's a movie every time. I want the next one already!!

Other than that, I want a woman slave. I deserve it.

Hmm, the origins/etymology have been traced back eight hundred years and before in Germanic languages. Seems terribly appropriate to me.

[spoiler?] I yelled at the tv that I was done with the show if they killed that adorable wolf but it was an empty threat... I'll keep tuning in.

After watching Game of Thrones, I've decided I want a Dire Wolf. Realizing that they are long since extinct, I'm getting the next closest thing.

I don't see how the Alsatian or German Shepherd is the closest thing to a direwolf, surely it is a husky or malamute.

I have a husky and they don't look like Huskies, they have very large, wide noses. I can only assume they are a cross breed.

Apparently they were rescue dogs, and Sansa's dog ( BTW I named my 9 month old daughter, Sansa) 'Lady' was actually adopted by the actress.
