  • Do you have to use real words in a script?

I was about to start a screenplay and I was wondering if I need to use real words. I was just thinking of making up a bunch of words out of random letters. Like this.

    JFJSH
Jadf adkj uow uoav oweu nadfou n oadu fodn nofa ono d?

    DHOF
Eaov aojouv heouzc aoue fjaouc allsu s duen soue?

Thanks. When its done Im going to sell it for hugs, not money. Should I tell my agent that or just have that be a surprise?

I'm sorry, I must now challenge you to a duel.

What you thought were not real words were in fact the deepest of all insults in the language of Karifistan.

i was going to try to come up with a nice quip but it would fail. . . as any decent comedic knows not to follow martel when he's typing with the sauce of baby back ribs on his fingers.
You only get one chance to rewrite it 100 times.

When I query a manager, should I use email or just write with feces on the sidewalk and hope he walks by?

And Bill, aou cuej aud audf ozu owuer vnuw dljou xuoxcuv.

You don't have to use real words. You were able to convey your point with your gibberish.

It's not nice to make fun of me.

The Sixth Sense example was very, very good for illustrating how a scene should be constructed while still being brief.

More experienced writers have been very helpul in the comedy thread and there will probably be more insights in the recommended book I just ordered.

I bet that clip of Chris Rock's brother on Last Comic Standing is on youtube by now. It's scary to see someone who thinks they are funny when they are not.

                  Hugs = straight jacket

"nadfou" (I think you'll find that's spelt wrong too)

Mariot stole my answer; and I, too, caught on instantly.

BTW, there's a New Fool on the Block by the name of Bense18. Same MO.

Emily -- Chaucer, Lewis Carroll, or Robertson Davies?

Why, that would be Carroll's Jabberwocky.

Did you bother to see the youtube clip?

If you think Chris Rock's brother's audition for Last Comic Standing was funny you shouldn't attempt comedy at all in your scripts.

At least I'm willing to admit I'm a beginner and ask for help from more experienced writers.

It's clear from your posted script pages and the comments on them that you are unable to see yourself as the beginner you are and you are completely closed off to help from more experienced writers.
