Default Industry Etiquette Question

After an email query blitz to Production Companies, I received several positive responses and requests for my spec script. I've gone ahead and signed the necessary releases and sent out my script to those companies that are known in the industry. Can anyone tell me what the proper etiquette is for follow up? Just how long should I wait before I email or call them or should I just wait and hope they like my material and call me? As a Newbie, I'd appreciate any advise from the experienced professionals--Thanks

There is no industry standard.
Some people call in a week to make sure the script arrived.
Some people don't.
Some people wait a month to call.
Some don't ever call.
Thing is, if they got the script, and they want to do
something with it, they will call.
Most of the time no call equals a pass.
Bugging them won't make anything happen.
It's about numbers.
Any one prodco doesn't want your script.
Maybe 100 prodcos don't want your script.
Maybe 101 loves it.
Don't mail out one copy and wait for something to
happen.
It could be a long time.
