  • Shortest & Longest Specs?

In terms of actual page length, I'm curious what are the shortest and longest specs that have ever been sold, and/or wound up on the Blacklist, if any come to mind off the top of your head. Just random curiosity.

From memory there was a well known movie that had a 185-page script, and I believe a 75-page script. I apologize for not being able to recall the titles or verify these.

Probably not good targets for a spec writer, however.

I've seen specs (usually horror) in the 85p range that sold.

On the obverse, I think HARROW ALLEY was a long spec (but known writer) back in the day - probably 145 or over. (just looked up my copy - 143! good memory)

I think 85 might be the minimum for foreign (minutes) distribution, so unlikely to be less than 85 pages.

Meat was 74 pages. The Yellowstone wolf one was like 52. Whatever A Quiet Place was.

Shadow In the Cloud by He who should not be named was in the 60's as well. It was written as one very long scene.
