  • Midnight Special

Just saw it. It was tense and mysterious and overall enjoyable, but after seeing Cloverfield lane, it didn't hold up. I think the issue was that the characters knew alot more than we as the viewer were told, so I was constantly asking questions that didn't get answers. It seemed intentional and forced. Like the way the characters talked seemed intentionally vague. Scenes were edited abruptly in a way that made you assume one thing, but you had no way of knowing if it were true. Where as Cloverfield, we only know what the girl knows, we learn as she learns. Answers are given, and though they are sometimes vague or misleading, its because the person that gave them is in the dark as well.
