    PAGE Award-winning Screenwriter
    Wins Hollywood F.A.M.E. Award

2008 PAGE Award winner Lisa Cole recently received a Hollywood F.A.M.E. Award for Rock Doc of the Year for her VH1 documentary DO IT FOR THE BAND. Lisa currently has a new feature in development with her husband, Mark Monroe, who won this year’s Academy Award for his documentary THE COVE.

Over the past six years, the Judges of The PAGE International Screenwriting Awards competition have developed a reputation for discovering and promoting some of the most talented new screenwriters from across the country and around the world. Since receiving their prizes, many PAGE Award winners have gone on to land screenwriting assignments, secure representation, and sign option agreements on their scripts, and several now have movies and television shows in various stages of production and release.

    In the latest news:
2006 Silver Prize winner Sang Kyu Kim is now a story editor on the TNT series HAWTHORNE, starring Jada Pinkett Smith. Sang wrote the upcoming season’s third episode “Road Narrows,” which will air this July.

2005 Bronze Prize winner Philip Daay recently completed the script assignment BLACK SALT for Owen Ratliff of Ratti Entertainment. Talent is attached and the project is now in pre-production. In addition, Philip’s sci-fi script SCIONIC is being published by Arcana Comics as a graphic novel, due out later this year.

2007 Silver Prize winner John Stancari optioned his action spec DEAD STOP to the producers of the award-winning Sony web series THE BANNEN WAY. The project is now in development.

185 Media commissioned 2007 Gold Prize winner Marc Conklin to write the new indie feature SOUVENIRS. Marc has completed the assignment and the film is slated for production in August.

The short film THIS IS NOT A TEST, co-written by 2008 Bronze Prize winner Eoin Rogers and Oscar nominee Ruairi Robinson, has been funded by the Irish Film Board and will be going into production this summer. Eoin is also currently working on a feature script for director Vittoria Colonna, and he is writing a political documentary sponsored by the EU Media script development program.

Fawaz Al-Matrouk has completed post-production on his 2009 Silver Prize-winning short film TO REST IN PEACE, which was shot on location in Kuwait. The film’s premiere screening is this Thursday evening, May 13th, on the Paramount Studios lot.
