Write one. Give it a go. The current thing I'm writing is completely different from my previous stuff and, like Harb, I've only had an option, with risible terms. RISIBLE (Mike Palin voice).

If you're saying that studios are only interested in comedies, then I have to disagree with you completely. Maybe I'm misunderstanding.

I totally understand the concept of this thread. After my experiences in Hollywood, I feel like I've almost had optimism beaten out of me. My friends come to me with their high hopes and handshake deals, and all I can say is "don't believe any of it until you have a contract." There is nothing more painfull to me than having a great meeting and then coming back to my day job. I just don't get my hopes up any more. I'll never stop writing (or rewriting), but I know I lack a lot of the other skills needed to sell a script (smoozing, connections, etc.).

Then if anything does happen, I'll just be pleasantly surprised.

It's ok. I decided to refocus my efforts on my animation. No more writing for me ^-^

This particular animation division only wants comedies.

I used to get excited about possibilities of things happening. Now I just don't care. Just pay me and I'll move on to the next thing. It's all product at this point just like any other assembly line. It's just a lot easier to have a job where I spend 99% of my life goofing off and still can make a **** ton of money.
