At this point in my career, I'd be happy if I got a pass from my local barber, let alone Disney.

Like grapeape said - they pass on more then just your writing and concept. There's a lot of other factors involved.

Keep marching!

Your barber buys scripts, T?

Come to think of it, it's about that time I head in for a trim.

Once I sent an email to CAA and believe it or not they wanted to read my spec. It's one of the top agents at CAA at that.

I was so happy and screaming and everything. The very next day I got a package delivered from Fed-X. It was from CAA. They had overnighted a release form for me to sign. Once again I'm so excited about all this and I kept telling everyone just to get read by this agent at CAA was incredible.

I think it was about 2 weeks ( I don't really remember how long it was) I got a letter from CAA - they passed.

I stopped getting upset over rejections years ago. I have to tell you this rejection hurt. I can't remember the last time a rejection hit me in the gut like that.

Hi Yl,

I too have been in the belly of the mouse. I pitched the DOD of Disney TV in his office a couple of times and he said that, "these are GREAT ideas!" He thought they would be fantastic for the boys animation dept and he told me to sketch up some ideas for episodes. We did that, he passed it long to the DOD in the boys animation who called me, "loved the writing", (they were treatments by the way) and submitted them to a committee. Guy left, then became a show runner, then i think it was 2 DOD's later I finally got the passes over a year later! I've also pitched DW, Nick. Sony etc on their lots and they passed but kept the door open. I guess if I'd have just kept knocking out idea after idea then one day something would have hit the target but I kinda ran out of steam. Good luck!

Sounds to me like you're doing just fine.

2 seconds, you usually get over things in 1.5 !

Best of luck.
I'm sticking with Broad Comedy specs. These were treatments for the Family Genre that I thought had unique enough concepts to pursue outside my genre.

ahhh yessss..... the belly of the mouse..... I guess that makes us....

Good work, ylekot.

It's been a while since you've posted pages on DD but I always loved your writing.

I think the last pages I posted was for Prya's 'randomly chosen logline challenge' last year. I think I had Dwarves on speederbikes in that one

If ya got time, we could do a script swap though for fun.

I'll read and give you notes on yours.

I'm in a genre transition right now. I've shelved all my previous scripts & it's unlikely I'll rewrite them so no reason for you to to think about them either.

Although I do have a couple of unfinished scripts ... hmmm, let me see.

I'll PM you my email.

A weird thing.... I didn't expect so many PM's from DDr's I don't know. I appreciate all the support.... but I'm not qualified to help random writers in unfamiliar genres. I appreciate all the support from all my lovely DDr's that I've come to know after the past few years... but not to be an a-hole... if I don't know you... I really can't be of much help right now as I am very busy. Please don't make me that guy because I might not have time to give you notes(and the very few connections I do have, I guard very closely). If I have the time, for a read and notes, Ill post it (some of you have seen my pre-train ride posts for a script)-- even then, I can only point out basics (traditional structure) outside the broad comedy genre. Once you have good structure... there are better/more qualified people on this board to give notes (La Femme, Writers Block, Dpat) just to name a few.

Cheers... I truly appreciate the support... and good luck all
