This is a whole bunch of crap exposition - no actor could have made it sound good. But the key to writing for guys like that (I have experience, unfortunately) is to give all of the dialogue to the real actor in the scene and let the star do 1-5 word sentences. Also, let the *situation* do the acting. Also, don't ever work with guys like that.

oh wise one, you speak with way too much experience.
that's cause he was reading from the script prompter.
We call that "Brandoing" - and it was probably a sheet of paper with his lines written on it.
I worked with a "star" who got $1m a film but could not read - so his assistant read the script into a tape recorder and the star memorized it. Any script changes or ad-libs? Well, he was the star, so that stuff just didn't happen.
