  • New Writer Quotes "For-Hire"

So, I've heard that once you've landed a sale or an assignment, you get some kind of "quote" -- a fee that is your going rate for "for hire" work, etc.

I hear that it increases over time if you do good work and get consistent assignments. Can anybody who has actually taken studio assignments shed some light on how these quotes are determined.

Say, a newbie breaks in with a spec. What type of quote rate can he expect in the first year? What about over time as his assignment work and craft grows? Any takers?

    Thanks.
