Believe it or not the best script I have read thus far is a "monster mash" vampire script (which really isn't my genre). I was concerned for two reasons. One, it was the first time I read a script in this contest that I am worried about competing against. Two, I know enough about production to know that it could be shot for around a million. I scored it excellent across the board and left my email hoping this writer will contact me. It was a vampires in corporate America.

cw-

just out of curiosity, what's your intent if the writer replies to you? looking to network? or something else?

Matt,

Networking and trading ideas about writing. He/she is not a first-timer and I would like to know how long he has been writing. I wouldn't mind knowing how he has been marketing his material, as it has been said before, vampire movies are a tough sell. The thought has even crossed my mind, that if he doesn't place in the contest or maybe he has been shopping it a long time, maybe I would buy it.

CW: I just sent you a private message. The script I gave the highest ratings to was also a vampire script that was very well written. I'm curious whether it's the same one.

C.W. and Jack0902...do either of you still have that vampire screenplay on your computer? I really wanted to read one, but I didn't get offered any. Is there anything in the rules that discourages sharing screenplays?

Nope. But I doubt the author would appreciate his script being sent around without his permission.

KimBritt: yeah, I definitely would not be comfortable giving you someone else's screenplay.

I read one about a homosexual vampire who comes out of the closet and goes on a promiscuous blood-sucking binge, turning the better part of San Francisco into queer undead with an eye for fashion. But there is one flaming citizen who won't rest till the last twinkle tooth is slain. Title: Gay Blade.

It was the best script I ever read in my entire life.

Ok, point taken, bad idea. Sorry! Maybe if I'm lucky, it will win and then I get to see it on screen. Hey, wait a minute, I'm supposed to want mine to win :lol

Are you sure it wasn't a *something else*-sucking binge in the streets of San Francisco? :rollin
