Sounds like a roundabout way to charge writers a reading fee.

The ummm winner gets to give a no-name production company a free option and gets representation with a no-name management company????

Thanks, but no thanks.
I'll stick to Screamfest LA and Slamdance for my horror contests.

I also recommend International Horror & Sci-Fi and Shriekfest.
I'm not crazy about Slamdance Horror. To be able to judge horror your readers need to be fans of horror. |

Screamfest LA, International Horror & Sci-Fi, Shriekfest...
Which one of these, or any others, would be best for my horrific comedy (or comedic horror)? And which ones are coming up? Thanks!

All are good but I'd pick International Horror & Sci-Fi. I won in 2006 and had a great time there. Made lots of nice contacts. My script was submitted to Lionsgate (and rejected 4 months later) but mentioning that win helped a lot in pitchfests after that.

I heard they no longer submit the winner/top finalists to Lionsgate.
