You trust the judgment of someone who was completely sloshed?

I'll put this way, Ralphy.

I windexed my TV screen, got my little white powdered donuts, my non-fat milk and I got all ready to watch and amazing Idol . . . on Thursday night.

My daughter was more than happy to break the news to me at 7:59 after following me around and watching me get all ready.

Of course I trust your judgement better than mine.

Granted, I haven't seen every audition this season, but she's my pick to win.

And she's from Philly.

I was surprised he didn't. I thought his voice was pretty good, actually -- it wasn't like a lot of the voices that get through, it was more direct, lacked vibrato but a little variety would be refreshing. It was as if everyone (even himself) had already decided that without his guitar he was nothing.

But you know, unlike a lot of the poseurs who try out, seeking only stardom, this guy was actually in it for love of the craft, so I think he's got a good chance to eventually make it in some way.

The judges can be such jokes sometimes. The last girl was easily the best of the entire show and Simon is telling her to go find her inner star? The same judge that liked the most laid-back down to earth contestant of all last year (Brooke)? Stop being a hypocrite!

The guitar player was almost there. ALMOST. But I just didn't see him getting out of Hollywood. The show shows its inconsistency though cause he was definitely better than some of the people they let through.

Question, they let 16 go through from each town? That number seems to be pretty consistent. So what do they do when they're winding down and either a) don't have enough tickets to give out to remaining contestants or b) have too many? Do they go back and tell someone they made it. I'm confused.

Getting riled up here!

Well said.

I know he didn't want his mother to touch him at the end when she tried to console him, but you know what? The boy was crushed. I'm not excusing it but it's like a boxer after a grueling fight and he loses a tough one that he wanted really really bad and they stick a mic in his face . . . you don't know what he's gonna say. They just need a little time alone.

All I'm saying is the boy wanted it badly.
