Guys, I know there are a few, but can you name me some of the movies about the film industry. The behind the scenes stuff, not just the actors, but the directors and producers - all that back room dealing and problems faced when making a movie.
I seem to recall a movie recently made, a doco I think, about a movie directed by Terry Gilliam and starring Johhny Depp that was beset with so many problems it got canned. Thanks. |

That's the one.
What about others, someone said to me Celebrity by Woody Allen. I've seen some documentaries on the Hollywood underbelly and read a bit, but what are the good movies? |

It's about theater in the 1800s, but you can't beat it for the nuts-and-bolts stuff you're interested in. |

It sounds like from your question you might be interested in viewing the "project greenlight" DVD set.
It is true to life concerning film production. The others were mentioned. RKO 281 is a pretty good film about the real life politics behind the filming of "Citizen Kane". REMb |
